Sunflower-Hemp Milk
Milk alternatives are all the rage, and have been for a long time, especially all you OG Vegans out there. At Organic Pharmer we’re always testing out recipes and trying new things out. Living a low inflammatory lifestyle isn’t always easy so we want to help you by providing recipes that help you on your journey. This nut milk alternative is one of our favorites at the moment. It has a delicious nutty flavor profile and can be consumed by all those out there with nut allergies. Spice up your daily vegan life with this new milk alternative.
This milk is easy to make at home, and when making a smoothie can be made right in the same food processor without needing to remove the “meat” (no straining necessary). This milk is a great way to add in a nice nutty flavor without the use of nuts!
All you will need is a food processor, cheesecloth or nut bag, hemp seeds, sunflower seeds and water. You can even use this as a substitute for the almond milk in the Quinoa Breakfast Recipe.
What you’ll need...
» ½ cup of hemp seeds
» ½ cup of sunflower seeds
» 3 cups of water
How to make it
💥In a food processor add in both the ½ cup of sunflower seeds and the ½ cup of hemp seeds. Next you will add in the 3 cups of water and blend away!
💥Keep the blender on high for about 1 minute or until fully blended.
💥Line a bowl with a nut milk bag or cheesecloth and pour the liquid contents through. Pour slowly, it sometimes splashes! When all has poured out wring out the remaining liquid.
💥Using a funnel pour into a glass bottle, store in fridge for 5-7 days!
