First up….SLT’s Leslie Greenwood!
When we first met Leslie, her energy and enthusiasm had us at hello. She puts every ounce of herself into her classes at SLT where her motto “I am always right there alongside my clients” is a true testament to her commitment to health and wellness. Leslie teaches at SLT in Rye Brook, Scarsdale, New York City, and the Hamptons.
She loves teaching and doing SLT because it provides the intensity and results she craves without the impact. Her Westchester clients keep her on her toes; Leslie beams, "Our fitness community here is so strong and dedicated. It's like our own little fitness hub in this area! I've taught all over the country and the world, and no clients are as strong, fit, and committed to health as my Westchester clients!
We caught up with Leslie one morning over a smoothie (the Mango Lassi with green protein was her choice):
What is the most important thing you do for yourself?
Try to get enough sleep, which can be really hard to do! If I don't get at least 7 hours of sleep, I'm just not at my best. With a solid 8 hours of sleep, I feel amazing, like I can accomplish anything!
First thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
Check my emails and social media on my phone. That 10-15 minutes is so important to me because I usually disconnect entirely for a few hours while teaching in the mornings and can't reconnect again until around midday.
Best advice you ever received?
Trust your instincts. If it doesn't feel right, it's probably not.
Three staples you keep in your fridge?
Whole Foods 365 Organic Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk, Nuttzo Organic Seven Nut and Seed Butter, and organic avocados (yes, I keep these in the fridge!).
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Binge watching TV! I just finished watching the latest season of Homeland - soooo good!
How do you stay motivated when life gets busy and stressful?
My clients motivate me and are truly my inspiration. As an instructor, you develop these awesome relationships with your regular clients such that you become a sounding board for your clients' challenges, frustrations, and obstacles, both large and small. When my clients show up, work hard, and don't give up despite all that's going on in their lives, I feel like I can too. Thank you for keeping me going!!!
What’s your #pharmerfuel?
That's so hard! I am an Organic Pharmer super fan! I'd have to say the Asian Pharmer Salad is my favorite, but close runners up would be the Flu Fighter drink (great for my voice after teaching lots of classes and for my immunity!), the Mango Lassi smoothie with green protein (when I need something filling on the go), and the Flow juice.
